In the era, when narcistic psychopath are ruling the world, and doing more and more disgusting and shameful and very very sick things day after day, it doesn’t seem to be a crazy thing, that I secretly wish every time a turn back to reading Hungarian literature it should be an event for everyone interested in this topic.

Let me explain.

I will call myself, no matter what,  a literary critic till I die. Because it’s not a type of job, it’s a special mindset. For me, a person with autistic tendencies, this is the way how I explain the world to myself. This is the basic how I think.

Therefore it seemed the most obvious solution that building up my own businesses I would start in the Hungarian literary world. And then adding more and more other projects (still from the cultural field, of course).

I wrote several times here and there about the reason why I failed (including my messed-up neurodivergent brain activities), and in many ways this js a topic I should just let it go.

But there is one element I can’t get over it.

My biggest aims have been always making films and series, which involve usually hundreds and thousand people. Organizing such a big project based on fictional storytelling is an obvious challenge for me.

On the other hand, Hungarian literary world is a small market. (That’s one of the reasons why it seemed to me an obvious choice to start my own businesses there.)

A community of few hundred people, a market with few dozens of books worth reading and talking about yearly.

And yet, while I’ve always thought if I can’t make it in such a small market, why I would expect to conquer bigger fields, for the majority of people involved in literary activites even this world seems to be too big. I met editors in influental positions knowing only the works of their own friends, cultural journalists writing articles just to try to please someone influental person they want a help from. Not to mention the Hungarian literary tradition inserting as much unique latin expressions known by only a few peope as possible to make

The whole bunch doesn’t seem to care sbout the readers, the audience. Ehy should they, right? Because Hungarian literary life almost entirely a stste founded sector, they only need to find the right a** to lick, being the loyal servant of the goverment (any goverment – no matter which one is the ruling party, it’s happens every time with every government), and the money flows.

Meanwhile I arrived with a perspective of a several times bigger picture, so every time I criticised the this smalland very tlxic world with its constant intriques and backstabbing for just a little more public money (yes, I know, there is no such thing as “public money” it’s the taxpayer’s money), I did it to stess out their pittiness, how ridiculous to behave like that in a such small community.

Unfortunately, or I should say, as usual, I was misunderstood massively. Many kf those people happy to love this kind of life were convinced I’m not criticizing this world from above from a wider perspective, but whining and complaining from below, from an inferior position for being left out from something.

Thus to demonstrate how ridiculously small is the Hungarian litery world incontrary to my much much broader business perspectives,

And because
